1. Blowing into the flute:
    • Don't tense up your lips. Let it be lose.
    • Imagine blowing like a ballon slowly deflating. It's like using your whole torso to gently blow into it.
  2. Embouchure technique
    • Rotating flute outward makes the notes sharper and a little harsher, and inwards flatter and softer.
    • Blowing harder also makes notes sharper and louder, and softer flatter.
    • Good flautist place flute a little inwards (not by too much), and play a little louder while keeping the notes soft.
    • However, do what's best for good sounding note. It's all practice.
  3. Embouchure placement
    • Place the embouchure directly above the embouchure hole.
    • For higher notes, make embouchure smaller and blow air faster.
  4. Fingers
    • Cover and uncover the holes in the flute gently with the fingers, without moving finger too much up and down.
    • Fingers should be gently resting in the holes, not pressing down with force.
    • Make sure you see how your fingers look when you play the flute.
  5. Head
    • Don't tilt your head forward or backward. It should look like you are heading straight, and graceful.
